How to Get a GED® or HiSET® in the Mariana Islands

You can study for the Mariana Islands GED and HiSET test online without having to attend class.

Mariana Islands GED and HiSET Eligibility Requirements


GED Test Requirements

  • Resident: You must be a resident of the Mariana Islands.
  • Age: You must be 19 to take the test, but may take the test at 17 with exceptions.
  • Enrolled: You cannot be enrolled in an accredited high school or be a high school graduate.
  • Cost: $30 (per subject) or $120 (all subjects)
  • Score: 145 (minimum)
  • Accommodations: You must apply for disability accommodations through the GED Testing Service page.

HiSET Exam Requirements

  • Resident: You must be a resident of the Mariana Islands.
  • Enrolled: You cannot be enrolled in an accredited high school or be a high school graduate.
  • Age: You must be 18 years of age. Students who are 16 or 17 can take the test if they provide documentation of withdrawal from K-12, and will not receive certificate until 18th birthday. 
  • Requires test preparation and authorization prior to testing.
  • Cost: $12 per subject
  • Score: 8 in each subtest, combined score of 45; minimum of 2 on the Language Arts - Writing essay
  • Accommodations: Find out about disability accommodations and fill out your HiSET Accommodations Request Form on HiSET website.

After you pass the test, the territory of the Mariana Islands will award you a HSE certificate that will show you have achieved the same level of knowledge as a high school graduate.
