The GED® Test or HiSET® Exam are Offered in Guam

Guam residents can receive a high school equivalency diploma by choosing to take one of two tests: the GED or HiSET test. Sure, you can find classes that make it easier to pass either test, but why go to a class when you can study online from the comfort of your home!

The GED Test and HiSET Exam Eligibility Requirements in Guam

GED Requirements

  • You must be a resident of Guam to take the test.
  • You cannot be enrolled in an accredited high school or be a high school graduate.
  • You must be 16 to take the test.
  • Cost: $31.25 (per subject); $125 (total)
  • Passing Score: 145 (minimum)
  • Accommodations: You must apply for Guam GED disability accommodations if you need it and be sure to check out all the other requirements you will need to meet. 

HiSET Requirements

  • Must have lived in Guam for 12 months and prove residency.
  • You cannot be enrolled in an accredited high school or be a high school graduate.
  • You must be 18 years of age. Students who are 16 or 17 may take the test with additional documentation.
  • Must take CASAS Appraisal before exam.
  • Cost: Cost: $10 per subject, $5 test center fee, $10 admin fee
  • Passing Score: Score: 8 in each subtest, combined score of 45; must score a minimum of 2 on the Language Arts, Writing essay

After you pass the test, the territory of Guam will award you a high school equivalency certificate that will show you have achieved the same level of knowledge as a high school graduate.
