Learning Disability in Math

I was tired of struggling in poverty. I want to be a good example to my sons and make my family proud. I want to increase my confidence. I was so humiliated by not having a good education. I want to feel respected for once in my life.

My mother always pressed for me to better myself. I have a wonderful boyfriend who is inspiring and motivating me to further my education. He told me he believes in me and that I can do this. I want to be a mother that my sons will be proud of, not ashamed of. I want to show the ones who said I’d never amount to any thing that I can.

I have a learning disability in math and severe depression that affects my focus and concentration at times. I have problems retaining what I’ve learned to an extent. I need a tutor in math. Algebra and geometry overwhelm me. I need assistance with that. I need accommodations.

First of all, I have problems with my self confidence. I wish to further my education and find a rewarding career. I want to make something out of myself. I want to do something with my life: have a purpose. I want to do more for my sons and my dad.

I came from an abusive home, had my first child at seventeen, wound up in a spouse abuse shelter at 21 with 2 children. I had little education and little job experience. I have been to GED classes in Kentucky, but I read that they have special accommodations in Indiana. I believe I can get the help I need to get my GED diploma here at the GED Academy.
