Hey dear Curtis ,
It’s been a while since our last correspondance . I’d love to keep in touch with you about my GED Math progress . I just wanted to draw your attention about some weak points I’ve found in our Math course ( either in Steck-Vaughn guide or the included CD ) . I have recently got a new study guide on GED Math and I’am almost done with it . I still find your course and the guide included is the best solution for starters who dopped-out long time ago like me . I have found an advantages in this new GED Math guide on our course in some areas that wasn’t explained sufficiently in our course , for example : Solving Distance Problems and applying the appropriate formulas and examples on that . Also , there are some new stuff I found in TRIGONOMETRY like ( Sin , Cosin , Tangent , Cotangent , Secant , Cosecant ) I will show you an example of the problems I had trouble with involving Distance and TRIGONOMETRY .
I look forward to hearing from you the soonest possible !

Hey I LIKE TO ADMIT THAT I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND
MATH…
IS THERE A WAY THAT WILL MAKE ME LOVE THE SUBJECT FIRST..BEACUSE I NEVER LIKED IT SENSE FIRST GRADE..
Cherrya ,
You first ask yourself , why do I have to study Math ? why I need a GED ? and what am I going to do in future ?? If you found an answer to these questions , I’m sure by then you’ll find a way to figure out the Math and get it to work for you . Motivation is the secret behind the success in every tough subject . Good luck !

Hey Curtis ,
Thanks for your prompt reply man . This is one of the problems I struggled with involving distance :
- A man started walking at 2 mph, while a woman 2 miles behind him began walking at the same time at a rate of 4 mph, and in the same direction. Just then, the man’s dog left him and ran toward the woman. Upon reaching her, it instantly turned around and ran back toward thr man. And so, the dog continued to run back and forth between them, at a constant rate of 5 mph, until the woman finally overtook the man. How far did the dog run?
**** Go enjoy figuring it out and let me know how to do it man !

Hi GED Math Help,
I’m not bad in math except when it comes to word problems any advice?
Hey, I just discovered this site. I thought that I was the only person who took the math portion more than once. Have any of you guys passed the math portion since then? I’m scheduled to re take the math in a week and I still don’t think I’ll pass all though I’ve been studying and trying to keep a positive mind. I need some words of wisdom right now lol.
kimmy, lots of people take the math test more than once! You can pass… but sometimes you need to adjust your learning a little bit. If you keep studying the same way, sometimes it doesn’t help… a couple of things that do most good are focusing on basic math, and just focusing on a couple of topics you KNOW will be on the test. Plus, have a strategy for taking the test. Go through and do ALL the easy ones first. You don’t want to get stuck struggling on some hard math problem and miss out on some easy ones. Then, go through the rest of the questions, spend a little time trying to figure them out, and if you think it’ll take too long or you just don’t know it, guess. There’s more good test-taking strategies and info on guessing in the GED Smart book: http://www.passged.com/e-book.php
Yes, I’m a rain and bone cancer survivor ( who after 12 years from High school) ,,, who is trying to get her GED. tHE MATH PART OF THE EXAM IS REALLY HARD FOR ME, AND i WONDERED IF THERE WAS ANY EASY WAY TO LEARN. hELP!!!!
Eliza,
Unfortunately, there’s no easy way to learn and no short cuts. However, sometimes the way you’re studying might effect how you learn. Try different study methods, like maybe flash cards, or games, and find out which one helps you the most.
i dint do this test yet but i hope when i do it i pass it
