On the GED test, there are some important ideas you need to know about government and the big ideas behind government in the U.S. I was thinking about the last thing I talked about, redistricting, made me think about it. I mean, when people were using redistricting to discriminate against blacks or other minorities, other people brought it to court. The Supreme Court decided whether the people making laws were right or wrong. So, one part of the government can stop another part of the government from doing something. (Read on …)

Thanks for Reading My Blog!

Hi! My name is Becca Patterson, and I’m new at this. To tell you the truth, I’m not too good at computers. I used to be a truck driver, and I traveled all over the place. Maybe I’ll talk about some of the places I’ve been and stuff that I’ve done. You know, you learn alot by traveling around and meeting people. Anyways, that’s what I like, meeting people, getting out on the road.

But I guess that’s over for me! See, I threw out my back, pretty bad. No more driving for me! Now, I gotta figure out what I’m gonna do next. So, if you’ve got any ideas about good jobs for me… let me know!

Here’s the thing. I wasn’t no good in school. I had lots of trouble reading and just didn’t like it there. All that sitting in a desk and reading a book don’t sit too well with me. So I dropped out. And I earned a pretty good living driving, but now, I don’t even have a high school degree, and I can’t lift nothing or do anything physical because of my back.

Life is just like that. It throws stuff at you. You never know what’s gonna happen. Well, so now I need more options for what I’m gonna do. So, I’m studying to get my GED. Then, I’ll be able to do more stuff. (But what?!?)

I’ll try to put some GED problems from my life in the blog here, and maybe we can help figure them out together. Meanwhile, I’ll put in stuff that happens to me and some things that I did while I was traveling. See ya soon!

p.s. If you haven’t, check out passged.com. That’s where I got into my GED study program, and it’s pretty cool for someone like me.
