My Son Is Going to Need Me…

What motivated you to get your GED? The reason why I need my GED is because I want to find a better job, and I have a son who is really going to need me to get him ready for life.

How have your friends and family helped you? Some of my family really want me to do good and get my GED or high school diploma.

What problems have you faced? Well, I have faced a lot in my life dealing with jobs and education.

What do you hope to gain from getting your GED? I am planning on having my own company by doing hair, and I also want to be a nurse. I hope that motivates my child.

Abbie,

Nothing motivates a child as much as seeing his parents show through their actions how important education is. We hear again and again from parents who go to get their GED how big a motivator it is for their children. But this isn’t just for your son. It’s for you, your son, and your joint future.

Your GED is definitely achievable, and you probably are more prepared already than you think. Try taking a practice test to see how close you are, and where you need a little brush-up on high school skills. You can be on the road to a nursing career or a hairstylist business sooner than you think!

I can definitely relate to your story. I too have a son, and he’s growing up so quickly. I need a better job, and career in order for he and I to live a comfortable life style. I wish you the best of luck, and you will earn your GED.
