Most universities have other admissions requirements, though, (like the SATs) and you'll need to check with the colleges you're interested in. There are really two ways to think about college. First, what do you really want to do? There are a lot of great careers out there, and each one has a different career path. For some of them, a technical school might be the best bet. For others, a community college or university is the way to go. The second way is for when you want to get started on the right path, but you don't really know what you want to do. That's the way a lot of people start college. If that's your situation, the best bet might be a community college. You should be able to attend your local community college with your GED and no other admission requirements, and it's inexpensive compared to other colleges. You can take some basic classes and try out different things. You can talk to counselors about your options and what programs are available. You can get started at the same time as you're figuring out what to do. Almost all U.S. colleges, around 98%, accept the GED, taken at an official test center.
