I need my GED for my future job. I want to learn reading.

Francisco,

Learning reading skills is a great place to start. That’s probably the most important skill on the GED. The GED Academy’s program helps you learn reading by including audio of everything on the board, so you listen as well as read. You learn to read faster when you can follow along while you’re hearing what’s being said.

Try to find local resources that can help you improve your reading. Check with your local library, adult education center, community college, or high school. You might find some free resources that can give you the support you need to help you on your way.

And probably the most important piece of advice to improve your reading: practice! Find something that you enjoy reading, like sports news, mystery novels, fantasy novels, adventure novels, or even webpages on the Internet. If you enjoy it, you should be reading it! Find books that aren’t too hard (your local library is a big help), and practice reading every day. You might be surprised how fast your reading improves!
