I have hopes and dreams for the future.

Well, when I started the high school division, that’s when my problems occurred. I have sugar diabetes. It started when my blood sugars started going off balance for me, it was times I couldn’t remain in classes to even understand the techniques and skills for me to understand. So I missed days not on purpose to try to handle my diabetes. At the time I had no help with my life. I had no father or mother figure I guess they call themselves not a part of my life. So I missed a lot of days in school for my health problems. I am now 22yrs of age, I am a 4 shot daily shot insulin dependent.
Reason for Leaving School:Â I dropped out in the middle of 12th grade because of my diabetes.
Reason to Get a GED:Â I have hopes and dreams for the future to go into Business Technology, and maintain and manage my diabetes.
One Thing I Need for My Dreams:Â Help with my denied claims for my illness disease please.
Kristy,
You’ve got a lot going for you. You almost graduated, and not too long ago! It’s a shame that your school didn’t work with you to make sure you graduated. We hear so many stories like yours, where a good student who could have graduated falls through the cracks because of problems in their life. There shouldn’t have been any reason you didn’t graduate. Well, now there isn’t any reason you can’t get your GED.
Start with a practice test. Find out how much you need to brush up on to pass. You might be surprised how close you are to passing. You haven’t really been out of school all that long, and you got to the 12th grade, even though you missed a lot of school during high school. Once you know where you stand, you can start directing your studying. If you’re ready to pass 1 or 2 tests, go ahead and take them. Get your passing scores, so you can concentrate on the other subjects.
Then, start studying. Begin with the easiest subjects first, and by the time you get to the more difficult subjects, you’ll have better test-taking and studying skills to help you out. Keep taking the tests as you’re ready to pass them, so you can tick them off your list. When you get to the most difficult subjects, you’ll have all the other things off your plate, so you can concentrate. You’ll learn quicker, and you’ll be more motivated.
One of the reasons we offer programs to study online and at home is that we know there are a lot of people like you who find it difficult to get to classes and to manage all the other things in their lives at the same time. You can relax and study a half-hour or an hour a day, and pretty soon, you’ll be ready to pass.
There are also adult ed classes available for you through the department of education. If you’re interested in classes in Laurel, contact:
