I’m getting a little frustrated…
Name:Â Â Â Â Lynn
City and State: Â Â Â Cincinnati, Ohio
Well, I’ve been trying for my GED for the past year and I’m getting a little frustrated because I can’t get the math part of it.
Reason for Leaving School:Â I didn’t leave school. I finished all my credits just didn’t pass the proficiency test that was required to even get a diploma.
Reason to Get a GED:Â Well, number one reason because I need to do this for myself and secondly for my four year old son and third for a better job or career and last but not least for me “myself” cause I’m too old to not have it.
One Thing I Need for My Dreams:Â Getting help with my GED.
Lynn,
It’s a shame that you didn’t pass the high school proficiency exam. In our opinion, no one should ever be in your position. The schools failed to teach you what they purported to teach. Well, that’s one reason why we took a different route at The GED Academy. We wanted to find a way to teach that wouldn’t fail. A way to help people like you really learn. Math is one of the hardest subjects to learn on your own, and our goal is to give you a math program that makes GED math understandable.
But there is other help out there, too. Visit the Ohio GED website. You’ll be able to locate prep classes at libraries, book stores, and adult education centers near you, for extra help.
Don’t give up. You can tackle GED math. Focus on building your basic math skills, like accurately adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing; estimating; dealing with fractions, percents, and decimals; and answering word problems. These are the fundamentals that will help you learn some of the more difficult math, so you’ll need to do well in them. It’s best to know the basic math really well… it gets you a long way toward your GED.
You can pass. Let us know if we can help.
