Remember, you've done a lot to prepare for the test. Here are some tips to calm your nerves, so you'll do your best. First, just realize that thinking "maybe I'll fail" isn't productive. If you go into it thinking, "I can nail this," then you're boosting your chance to succeed. So, psyche yourself up! The day before the test, don't do any studying. You're already prepared. Extra studying will cause stress, and you need to work on de-stressing and building confidence. Do something fun and relaxing, instead of worrying. The only thing you should do for the test is to get together everything you'll need--any paperwork you need to bring, directions to the test site, No. 2 pencils, your identification, test payment. Call the test center if you don't have a list of what to bring. Get a good night's sleep the night before, so you'll be well-rested. On test day, eat a good, healthy breakfast with some protein and carbohydrates. You can't concentrate if you're hungry! Don't study, but do keep busy with relaxing activities, if you have some spare time. Leave for the test center with plenty of time to spare. You should have everything you need--and that includes the knowledge in your head. Have confidence in yourself. Banish all negative thoughts from your mind. They're not helping. It's the positive thoughts--why you deserve this, what you've accomplished to get here, everything you've done and everything you're capable of--that you need to keep in mind. Just focus on being in the moment, taking the test itself, and you'll be fine. If you find your mind racing with doubts, take a moment to close your eyes, take a breath, and get rid of those negative thoughts. You are ready to beat this challenge. The reason why I dropped out of high school was because of math. I had the best teacher ever that helped me and got me ready for the test. I would recommend joining a ged prep class. I love math and taking the test. She made my selfsteem go high and now I'm going back to school to become a teacher. I use to get F'S when it came to math. All I recommend is truly study and give it some time. It took me 10 years to realize that I need my ged. I had a good job but it was my education that I wanted to improve I just took the math ged test and thought it was very easy!!! The reason why I dropped out of high school was because of math.
