For myself and my kids.
Well, I stopped school in the tenth grade. I’m currently not working, and I have two kids 5 and 9 months. I’m really trying to further my education. For myself and my kids.
I left because I got pregnant and stopped going. I want to get my GED so I can be able to better myself. Help my kids with their homework. I can be able to let them know that mom got some kind of degree, and just be a good role model towards them.
My dream is to get my GED so I can go further in school. I want to get my R.N. License and work as a nurse.

Tiffany,
Isn’t it amazing how our children can inspire us? To be better people, to do more with our lives. To show them what’s possible. At the same time, we’re proving to ourselves what’s possible.
We hear from a lot of parents who are striving to do better, not just so that they can help themselves or even provide for their families, but become role models for their children and inspire their children to achieve more.
Congratulations on taking this step for yourself, and for your children. It’s definitely something you can accomplish. Getting to 10th grade is good. You’ve got a lot of the foundation you need to pass the GED test. It’s been a few years, so you’ll probably need to brush up on some basic skills, but you’ll be surprised how quickly you can progress towards your GED… the first step toward a better career. Nursing is a great choice, because it’s always in demand, and it’s a career where you can really help people.
Start by getting familiar with the GED test. The Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education has some helpful GED information on their website at http://www.dtae.org/Adultlit/ged.html. Find out where a testing center is near your home. Take a GED practice test. You’ll narrow down what you need to work on to pass the GED.
Let us know when you pass!
