Stories to motivate and inspire. . .

I want to be someone in this life.

I have 2 children, I want to have better job for my self. I left because those days I was crazy too much, I got pregnant and I didn’t like too much school. I want to be someone in this life. I like to be in the computer, i  like to learn, I want to do something technical. Do they have teachers can help with my grammar?

Esmeralda, 26, Berwyn, Illinois

Esmeralda,

If you love computers, then that’s definitely the field to go into. People who can work with computers are always in demand by employers. You might look into what technical schools and colleges there are in your area… some of them may have GED programs for you, too. But, it might actually be easier and cheaper to get the GED on your own before applying to a technical school.

There are a lot of options to help with your grammar. The GED Academy‘s writing program has many lessons on grammar, in an easy-to-understand format. Or, check out your local library, community colleges, and adult schools. They probably have GED programs that can help. In fact, the Illinois Community College Board has a GED website you might want to check out: http://www.iccb.state.il.us/gedtesting.html

You can definitely get your GED and go into the career that you really want… please let us know when you pass!
