I want to get my GED to show my kids they can do it too.
I need my GED so I can go to college so I can hopefully help kids get their lives together. I would like to get into criminal justice.
I left school when I was 17. I had a baby at 18 and school was hard for me so much sometimes, that i just didn’t go.
I want to get my GED to show my kids they can do it too. My only daughter dropped out after she had a baby at 16, and she only has one year left. I hope by me doing what I have wanted to do all my life, maybe she will go back. And I have a9 year old that needs to see his mom do something with her life, that’s been my dream all my life to help kids.
My dream is myself doing the things to change my life.

Darian,
You can get your GED, and set a great example for your daughter and your son. We see it again and again: children who see their parents studying and working to get a better education do better in school. It’s because kids learn by example.
Here’s an idea: if you can, get your daughter to study with you. It will help both of you learn better, spend time together, and also prepare her to get her diploma.
Since you’ve been out of school for a while, and since you had a hard time in school, you’ll need some prep work to brush up on your skills. There are lots of resources available. Check your state department of education’s website for information about the GED and help that your state government might offer you… also, check your local library, community college, and adult education centers. Not sure where to go? The high school probably can tell you who to contact.
But not everyone finds what they need in community resources, where money is limited. That’s why we started The GED Academy, which offers a complete online prep program that teaches everything you need to know, and makes it easy to understand. If you’re interested in studying online, at home, at your own pace, check it out at http://www.passGED.com.

I would really like to earn my GED, I have taken it twice and I have no luck.I feel as if I study so hard for it but when the day came for me to take it I wouldn’t do as well as I thought I could. I am only two points off from passing it, the first time I was six…I though for sure I was ready the second time but it so happened to be that I wasn’t so I’m still two points away from earning it. I am 20 years old and I am expecting my first baby in october of this year. I would like to complete my GED and futher my education and going off to college, so I can better my child’s life, and not let her end up making the same judgements i did. To show her or him that when your parent’s tell you that getting your high school diploma is important they are TELLING THE TRUTH, always trust your parents in what they say, they only do it to better you in life. I just want to make something out of myself and my baby so it won’t have to be so hard for her and hopefully she will listen about how important an education is…

Jessica, Keep with it! You’re close… if you’re only a few points off, you’ve probably passed most of the tests… so hopefully you’re just focusing on raising your score on one test. In fact, the more you can narrow down what you’re studying, to raise your score a couple of points, the better. Decide where it’s going to be easiest to gain a couple of points (raising your essay score, nailing all the geometry questions in math, etc.) and focus in on that one area. It’s a good strategy for passing when you’re so close. Congratulations on committing to passing… you can do it. And thanks for your wise advice!
