I would like to learn to read and spell…
I would like to learn to read and spell because I know a little bit. I left school because I ran away. I want to get my GED for myself and my kids, and I have a lot of dreams for myself and my goals. My dream is to learn how to read and write and spell. Can you help me?

Susy,
The GED Academy recently introduced a new writing course, so feel free to check out our website at http://www.passGED.com. Or, call and talk to us at 1-888-880-2164 to find out about the program. Also, you might be interested in GED Ahora, a free GED reading blog, and Liz’s World, a free GED writing blog.
You can learn to read, write, and spell. Another good place to start is your local library. A lot of libraries have literacy programs that can help you out, or they might know about adult education programs in your area.
The best way to learn is to read! You’ve got some knowledge to start with…that’s good. Practicing by reading things that you enjoy is going to help you a lot, and start with whatever is easy for you. Do you like mysteries? Science fiction? What about non-fiction? Newspapers? Magazines? Check bookstores, and check out the library. Start reading whatever you like…and keep looking for new things to read.
