GED Stories

Stories to motivate and inspire. . .

I just got so tired of the fake teachers and fake students.

Well, in my case I didn’t quit school because of pregnancy or anything like that, I just got tired of seeing the same faces every single year. I really didn’t want to go to the school that I was attending any more.

I left school January 17, 2008. I just got so tired of the fake teachers and fake students. I want my GED so that I can have some kind of education. I want to own my own business. So I am going to need creditials and license for that.

If I can get my GED, or finish getting my highschool diploma I  would be able to get driver’s license. I would be able to find a job and prepare for college.

Melanie,

Thanks for sharing your story! It’s really wonderful that you’re already starting to think about the future. A lot of students who leave school don’t plan for their future until they run into problems later on. So you’re in a good place to do some really positive things for your future. The GED can be a good option for you, or you might want to look into alternative high schools in your area. Can you finish school at a different…and better…school? Stay away from online high school diplomas, though… a lot of them are fake, and colleges or employers won’t accept them. And anyone who says you can take the GED online is a fake.

Because you’re 16, you need to check to see whether your state will allow you to take the GED yet. Some states require you to be 18, or they might have special requirements, since you’re 16. Contact your local testing site or state administrator to find out… you can find the contact information at this webpage.

If you decide to go for your GED and are able to, take the GED as soon as possible, since you’ve got a lot of knowledge from being in high school that might fade with time. Try taking a practice test first, though, to see how much you need to study and what tests you can already pass. You can get that high school diploma…and have a great future!
