With the help of your program, I received my last test score yesterday and PASSED MY GED! I could have never done in without your program.
I am 45, and was laid off after 20 years in the printing industry. I was offered a new job, in a new field, on the condition I got my GED. No small feat at this stage in my life. They were actually holding the job for me! The pressure was on! And OH how the testing and entire process has changed! I studied relentlessly, with much difficulty and frustration at times, as its been a long time since I was in school and everything is ten times harder now. Continue reading
My mother and sister both dropped out of high school to get married. I was determined to get an education so I would not feel trapped as my mother did. She stayed with a man who cheated on her and abused her physically and emotionally because she did not have the self-confidence or education to support herself. Continue reading
My name is Karen Whitlow Spears, I am 33 years old. I was a sexual abuse victim, my stepfather sexually abused me from the time I was 5 years old until I turned 15. When I finally got the nerve up to say anything, to reach out to someone for help, I thought it was probably to0 late. Although my mother had no idea what was going on she was the one that ended up in jail, and without her kids. They took us from my mother, myself and my two little brothers. Did he get punished? No he did not. And then to top things off I married when I was 17 years old, when they finally gave us back to my mother because I was afraid they would come and jerk us out of our home with our mother, since they had already put us, and her, through so much. I didn’t want them to come and jerk us out of her home also. Continue reading

Hi, My name is Cleon Dwayne Jones Jr., and I’m from the east side of Detroit, MI where I was born and raised. I grew up in a single parent home after my father left, and watched my mother struggle to make ends meet to take care of me and my younger sister. By the time I was in middle school, my grades dropped due to my parents’ separation but I managed to graduate through summer school. I made it up to the 12th grade but I was suspended in 10th, which led to me being short credits. So I left Detroit Public Schools to attend life skills with my best friend, he committed suicide in front of me and another close friend in 2005 the week we enrolled. I went into depression and couldn’t focus on my studies. Later on I was kicked out because I missed seven days and that’s the max. And I haven’t been back to school since, I felt like a dummie because I didn’t finish school and a failure because I didn’t graduate on time. But now I feel like I’m coming out of my shell and I set Goals and have big dreams of being wealthy spiritual, mental and financial. From nothing to something is what I’m striving for.
