I want to quit being a truck driver to become a police officer…
I’m 31 years old, I’m an OTR truck driver. I would like to go back to school and further my education.
As a child I moved around a lot because of my dad’s job. He worked for an oil company and in 1 school year I moved 11 times, so it was very hard for me to learn.
I want to get my GED because I want to quit being a truck driver to become a police officer or a deputy sheriff, that is my hope, my dream, my expectation.
I want to become a better speller, and a faster reader.
Don’t give up in life, no matter how hard it is keep trying, if you want something in life you have to work for it, not everything in life is given easily, shoot for your dreams..

Bobby,
Thanks! You’re so right… not giving up and working for your dreams is the key! The GED is a great route for you to change jobs. There’s a great need for police officers and other law enforcement, and thank you for wanting to take on that job. You can definitely get there.
If you need help with reading, try looking at Maria’s GED reading blog at http://www.passged.com/student_blogs/maria/. She talks about different ways to improve your reading. Another thing to do is read more…read whatever you’re interested in! Instead of watching TV, read a book…any kind of book you like. Read your news on the Internet or in the newspaper. The more you read, the better your reading and writing will get. Good luck, and if you need more information on the GED, visit us at http://www.passged.com.
