I’m in deperate need of getting my GED.
In year 2004, I went to high school, when I was 16 years of age. I had problems with algebra, science, comprehension in reading, literature, English, a little social studies in my regular ed classes. So I repeated my Freshman year in high school for 2005, and they evaluated me in a special ed self contained class. When I was evaluated in this class, I couldn’t learn anything I needed to learn for a good education. So I left high school in the tenth grade in year 2006 and went to job corps just for a GED. When I went to job corps, I completed my trade, but I did not receive my GED, because I was put on medical seperation and got sent back home because of my anxiety. I was nervous around people, and it was hard to concentrate for my GED.
Right now I’m twenty years of age. I’m employed, I don’t have the best job, but at least I’m employed. I’m in desperate need of getting my GED, because if I can find a quick way to get my GED and I can get my knowledge and education, I can guarantee myself it can open doors for me. Please help me.

I know where I come from and I’m going. Right now I have nothing. About all the good jobs out there require a high school diploma or a GED. If you can help me get my GED, I have more opportunities, I’ll be happy and successful, and doors would be open for me.
My dreams: Getting my knowledge, getting my GED, so I can have more oppotunities because it’s out there. If I get a GED, I can get a better job and I can go to college.
I’m in deperate need of getting my GED.

Lauren,
Thank you for sharing your story. You know, one of the problems with schools is that the people who need the most help often get the least help! The system drove you out of school. Well, it doesn’t have to keep holding you back. You can get your GED.
You need to make a commitment to learning and find a study program that will actually teach you…one that will explain things so that you really understand them. Check out your options. The GED Academy program is built for people like you who need to re-learn some basic skills for the GED, but there are also community programs that might help. Check your local high school, library, and community college, to see what programs they know about. Studying at home, though, might actually be more comfortable and easier for you, especially if you’re still having trouble with anxiety.
You’re right… once you have a GED, there are a lot more options open to you. Who knows how far you can go?
When you pass the test, come back and share your success!
