I just hope that I would be able to say I did it, finally.
My name is Sonja Tate and I have had a hard time with school and stuff because I have a two year old daughter. School got hard as I tried and tried until I said I just give up because I feel like I couldn’t succeed, like life wasn’t giving me a chance.
It started off by me not learning the work because the way they were teaching. And then my baby came along and things got harder. I tried so hard until I just couldn’t focus on the work.
I, Sonja Tate, want a GED to have the ablity to get a good paying job for me and my baby. My goal is to never give up, you only work harder and wiser. That’s how I’m going to accomplish anything, by trying my best.
I feel like if I want this bad enough then God is willing to give it to me. I just hope that I would be able to say I did it, finally.

Sonja,
Thanks so much for sharing this story. You know, that’s how a lot of students feel. School is structured so that if you start falling behind, you just fall further and further behind… and everything gets harder and harder. They try to push you through instead of stopping and letting you catch up! So, learning gets hard…and frustrating…and impossible!
Well, learning doesn’t have to be hard, or frustrating. Learning can be possible! Yes, you can get your GED. You can study on your own time, at your own pace, and catch up on those important things you missed. You’ve made a commitment…that’s the first step. Don’t just say you WANT a GED, though. Say that you WILL GET a GED. Because you can get it. You need to find the program that works best for you… whether it’s an adult education class in your community or an online study program. Find a program that works, and stay with it. Then get that GED diploma, and let us know how you’re doing.
