All my life I’ve dreamed of someday graduating from college…

All my life I’ve dreamed of someday graduating from college, getting an outstanding job in a well known establishment and finding a handsome as well as intelligent and respectful man to settle down with. Maybe even someday having a farm house with a white picket fence and a couple of toddlers running around in the front yard. Now it seems like I’ve skipped a few steps and went straight to married with kids. Now my dreams have become goals. My most important goal at this time is to get my GED.

About two months ago I asked my mother to help me find a way to prepare for my GED test. So she went online and found a GED preparation course at PASSGED.COM. She then decided to buy it so that I could get started on it as soon as possible. My plan is to study just as hard as I can. Then take the practice tests repetivively, or until I pass them both. Once I have passed the GED practice tests I am going straight to Southeastern Community College to take and hopefully, pass the GED.

In my experience as a married teen mother, and as a high school drop out, I have learned that schooling is neccessary to have success in the world we live in today. I’ve tried the minimum waged secound shift retail job, it just doesn’t pay enough to put diapers on a newborn and at the same time put food on the table. Altough I want nothing more than to be a stay at home mom, so that I can always be there to take care of my kids, at this point I am stuck between a rock and a hard place (so to speak). I have found that my husband and I cannot pay the bills and live a sufficiently normal life on just his salary as a mechanic’s assistant.

I may have started my life wrong but I want to finish it right. Not for my sake only, but also for my family. I don’t want my kids to be ashamed of going to school because I can’t afford to by the name brand clothes. I want to be able to go to a store and buy things that they want, not just the things they need. My goal is to get me GED and make a life for myself, and my family.
