I want to finish what I set out to do…
I am a highly intelligent young African American woman who has dreams and goals. I am lacking the drive and determination to receive my GED.I left school because I was always depressed and hurt, and my mentality on the negative parts of life basically got the best of me. I want my GED so I can get a better job, further my education, and gain some security in knowing I finished what I set out to do. Knowing I encouraged myself even if nobody else encouraged me.
My dream is to receive my GED, get better employment, pursue my music career, and just be proud of myself.

Ashley, you can get your GED. That’s the good news. Last year, over 600,000 people earned GEDs… You can become one of over half a million people to earn a GED this year, too. The biggest problem for a lot of people is staying positive and staying motivated!
At The GED Academy, we give a lot of advice for staying motivated: make a habit out of studying, get your family and friends on board to encourage you and help you keep a schedule, get specific about when you’re going to take the test (and even make a test date in advance), make a study plan and schedule, give yourself rewards as you meet your goals… But we also want to ask you: What do you want and need to stay motivated…to find your drive and determination? What would help you out most? Study planning guides? Information? Reminders? More ways to connect with other students? Let us know your ideas… and what’s most important to you.
