To make something of myself, I need a GED…

Filed under: College Bound!, GED Students, Getting a Better Job — December 27, 2007 @ 11:28 am

I am twenty years old and currently working for American Proteins Inc. of Cuthbert, Ga. I reside in Columbus, Ga. I left school in April 2005, because I started home school. In order for me to make something out myself, I need a GED or high school diploma to get into a college. My dream is to get a good paying job to take care of my family.

From The GED Academy:

Travis, thanks for sharing your story. Many students who are home schooled take the GED to get the credential to move on to college and better paying careers. The bottom line is that people with a college degree can expect to earn almost a million dollars more in their lifetime, so your GED and college education are a great investment. All the GED requires is a bit of review to refresh your knowledge. You’ll need a handle on some basic math, reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. It’s probably not as difficult as you might think. Consider taking a practice test to see how ready you are and to focus your studying on what you need to learn.
