Only the math test left…
I took my GED test last year for the first time in August. I passed everything except math. I kind of figured that if I was to fail anything it would be math, unfortunately, I did. I only failed by 20 points. I got a 380 and the passing score was at least a 410. I was so proud of myself for passing the other parts of the test. Math was one of the hardest subjects for me in school, depending on what kind of math it was that was being taught. I felt like a loser when I couldn’t understand math. What I did was studied real hard and I taught my self versus the teachings of the constructors. Math really isn’t hard if you have the knowledge of how to operate the questions. It’s a blessing that the only part that I have to take over is the math part of the GED test. Now that I have the other parts out of the way, I can focus and put all my energies on the math test this time and hope to have a great outcome in the near future.
I left school in the eleventh grade. I was not going to be able to graduate once I became a senior, because I didn’t have enough credits.
I want to get my GED because I have a few short term goals such as obtaining a good job. Just by me having my GED will boost up my internal self afflictions. There are more opportunities for me once a GED is received. Once I get my GED, that will open up the doors and windows to a whole lot of opportunities that I didn’t know existed.
I really feel hopeful in taking my math part of the GED test. I was a little discouraged when I failed the first time, but there is always a second time to do better. Never give up.

From The GED Academy:
Carmen, thanks for sharing your experience. The GED math test is the hardest part of the GED for most of our students, and you did extremely well for a first try. The problem is, a lot of the time teachers give directions for solving problems without really explaining why math works the way it does, so you never really understand it in the first place and then forget how to do it! Math is a different language, and if you understand the concepts behind it…what it really means and how it applies to real life…it’s much easier! That’s how we try to teach our students.
With your score so close to passing, if you can brush up on some of the math you haven’t had for a while and concentrate on studying a couple of areas you know give you problems, we’re confident you can bring your score up to passing.

I only need the math portion too, does your program allow you to just take one part of it? How can I get one transcript that lists all my scores? Do I still have to pay the same price? Please email me back with the answers to my questions because your site is the only one that I have visited that addresses only taking one part on the GED test.

Yo! Chervon. No shame here, man! Lots of people get their GED, even one guy who was 71: http://www.musc.edu/catalyst/archive/2000/co12-1ged.htm, and a 79-year-old who only got through 8th grade back in the day: http://www1.forsythtech.edu/home/news/forsyth-tech-celebrates-graduation-of-ged-and-ahs-students! So don’t worry about your age!
Come visit my website for some math help, at http://www.passged.com/student_blogs/curtis/… you can e-mail me any questions you have at curtis@passged.com, and I’ll try to walk you through whatever you’re havin’ trouble with.

I FAILED THE MATH BY 10 POINTS AND I WAS WONDERING DO THE POINTS ADD ON OR DO THE TEST START ALL OVER ONCE U RETAKE THE TEST AGAIN??

When you take the math test again, you get a whole new score. If you only failed by 10 points, you’ve got a good shot. My advice: choose an area you know is on the test and that you know you missed some questions in, and study that area real well. That should give you the few extra points to pass.
