I need to work on being afraid of failure.

Filed under: Fear of Failure, GED Students — October 12, 2007 @ 4:10 pm

I have been trying for years to get my GED. I don’t have good self-esteem. I’m afraid of failure, have been all my life. I’m working on my self-esteem and hope it gets better.

I had to take care of my mother when I was young and had a hard time studying in school. She is an alcoholic and was abusive to me. So, I dropped out of school and ran away, lived on the streets, got involved with gang members, and my life was a mess. As I got older I met a nice guy. We got married. I had a son which is 16 now and life is better for me.

I want to get my GED so I can get a better job, also prove to myself I am not stupid, like I was told when I was young by my mother. I also would like to take a college course. I love the medical field.

I need to keep negative people out of my life, and always think positive about my goals. I need to work on being afraid of failure. That would help me.

    HI,
I have the same problem. I guess, we just have to overcome this problem by preparing ourselves really well! Just keep on studying! May be you find a person that can help you studying, so you reach your goal.
Don’t give up and keep on studying.

    Greetings
    Esther

Hi, Emily! What information did you want? The GED is basically a test that you take at a testing center to get a GED credential, accepted just like a high school diploma by employers, colleges, the military, and police academies all over the country. You can’t take the GED test online, but you can study for the test online. The GED qualifies you for a lot more jobs… maybe you already know all that.
There are 5 tests on the GED…reading, writing, social science, science, and math. For the writing test, you need to write a 45-minute essay, plus take a multiple-choice test. All the other tests are multiple choice, except there are some questions on the math test that you need to write in an answer. For more information, you can go to http://www.passged.com …or try writing to information@passged.com with your questions.
