GED Stories

Stories to motivate and inspire. . .

I don’t want to send a bad message.

I am a wife and mother of 2 beautiful kids. I have a wonderful family and wonderful life, but I feel I am missing this one piece to make me whole. I didn’t graduate, so I need my GED. I lecture my kids about how important their education is, yet I didn’t complete mine. Seems like I need to do something about that. I don’t want to send a bad message.

I left school 2 months before graduation because I was lacking credits. I was so upset I just walked away. Thought about getting my GED right away,…….then came the husband…..and work…. and kids, my dreams got put to the side.

My son is graduating in 2007! He is a very bright and enjoyable young man, and I want him to be proud of me as I am proud of him! My daughter is right behind him and the same goes for her. She needs a more positive influence. She always says to me, “you didn’t finish school!” and I don’t want her to think that what I did is the answer. Not having my diploma has affected me in a number of ways and it has held me back. I want to go on and get a business management degree once I complete this course. This will put me in a position to advance and make more money.
