Hey!!! Your spelling is actually pretty good! Trust me! I am an ABE/GED teacher. I had a student recently go from 5.2 grade level on the TABE in reading to 10.3 in about 3 months. Just remember a few things: You really have to make time each and everyday for studying, even if it is only for a half hour. I recommend an approach of reading, math, and writing each day. The reding, soc. studies, and sci test are very very similar. Make sure you are working in books that are appropriate for your current educational level. And don’t give up, no matter what. The tests can be re-taken as many times as you want (but there is a 60 day waiting period in most states)Oh, for reading, I’ve seen many many students pass read, soc, and sci with about a 10.0 grade level, so reaching 11.0 or 12.0 is simply not absolutely necessary. With reading……YOU ARE ALREADY HALF WAY THERE!!! Also, I have had dyslexia my entire life, so I know what it’s like to be a little slower with certain things. I’ve never let it stop me though. Make sure that you are setting realistic and attainable goals for yourself as well. Don’t kill yourself, but try to make sure to take little to no breaks with your learning. EX: don’t miss class or sluff off. However, make sure you take plenty of study breaks. (I recommend about a 10 min. break for each hour of study.) Hang in there and good luck!!
