Two boys

I am witting in anticipation of what’s to come for my boys. They are 15 and 16 and in no way shape or form ready for High School. My children have severe Learning Disabilities, that ranges from reading, writing, math, language. They have normal IQ and have been in special education with tutors since the first grade. I tell you this because I don’t want you to think I am coping out on them. I am only being realistic that if traditional and non tradition approaches haven’t work yet. I have little faith anything will change in HS.

Currently my children had valid IEP with accommodation that help level the playing field. They use readers, scribes, and educational software to do their school work. I believe with one on one instruction (using me for the one on one) along with no time restrictions, and the continued use of their education software that it would be possible for my children to acquire their High School GED.

I know your kids can do it! I met a doctor of education and he said he’d had learning disabilities since he was young. If he’s a doctor of education now that goes to show anyone can accomplish anything if they try. I’m 17 and tomorrow, Tuesday, and Wednesday I’m going to take the GED tests. (The school I go to has weird hours so they break the GED up into 3 days… while most schools only give you 1-2 days!
