My name is David. . .
my name is David i am 45 years old and do not have a H.S Diploma and am ashamed
of that fact I’ve tried to obtain one but have failed in the past i drooped out of school after
the 8th grade due to the fact that i was abusing drugs that started in the 7th grade
up till that point i was’nt a bad student i’ve always been bad at math and cannot even
do muiltblcation to well or division i really have a hard time with numbers by the way
i have been drug free for over thirty years i want to move on job wise but know that without a H.S diploma i won’t be able to get ahead i am so embrassed for anyone to find out i don’t have this Diploma in my heart i have no confidence that i can learn and retain the information i need to achieve this desire im so tired of being without one do you think
you can help me too get a G.E.D all my or should i just forget about the whole thing
my grammatical skills and math skills are more on the grammer school level thanks for
taking the time to read my story i look forward to hearing from you soon.

David, your letter is very moving. I appreciate the courage it took to write it. There are a great many people like you who are embarrassed to not have a h.s. diploma. You have taken the first step and that’s the most important one. Getting a GED is more about perseverance and drive than anything else. I have taught hundreds of adult students and recognize in you what it will take to be successful.
