This week I wanted to tell you about another great new program to help you get your GED. It’s a way for you to get more involved in your GED study and at the same time earn money toward your study program.
To help with our new online community Study Groups we’re looking for Teaching Assistants (TAs). A passGED TA will help our instructors stay in contact with other passGED students. They’ll write comments and questions on our study group blog and have a list of 5-10 other students they’ll write to on a weekly basis. (Don’t worry … you won’t be expected to teach any classes.)
PassGED Teaching Assistants will earn 25% off their tuition cost for the GED study program. (Details below) Here’s what a TA will do to earn the 25% off their tuition cost.
1. A Teaching Assistant will become an active member of one of our Online Study Group communities. They will be expected to make posts and comments on a regular basis, at least twice a week. The posts can be anything that you think would be helpful to others in your study group. You can talk about your study experiences or background, basically anything that will get people talking to each other online about their GED study. We’ve found that the more involved people get with others in their study, the greater the chance they’ll succeed with the GED tests.
2. Secondly, a Teaching Assistant will be given a list of GED students who have requested to be contacted on a regular basis. As a TA you will be asked to drop each of the folks on your list (less than 10 people) an email to check in with their progress. All you are expected to do is stay in contact with the folks on your list and give them encouragement and suggestions as you see fit. You aren’t expected to get involved in teaching questions or instruction.
If you’re approved to be a TA you will get a 25% discount off your cost for the passGED Study@Home online program. This will be either a credit if you have paid your fees already, or a reduction in future payments if you’re paying on installments. Your commitment as a TA will be for two months.
We have only a limited number of TA positions open. If this is something you want to do, just reply to this email and tell me why you think you would make a good teaching assistant. Just a paragraph or so is enough. The qualifications for a TA position are desire to help others and reasonable writing skill.
If you have questions feel free to write, or give us a call at: 888-880-2164.
Until next time,
Leonard
