Real Learning. Less Recidivism. Low Cost.
GED® Academy’s non-Internet software version for
corrections can dramatically
reduce your correctional education
cost per inmate in three ways.
-
1. Speed Inmate Learning.
Correctional education students learn faster with the GED Academy because their instruction is targeted to exactly what they need when they need it. Our learning technology creates a personalized learning plan that continually adapts to what the corrections student needs at every step of the way.
-
2. Reduce Instructor Cost.
The GED Academy does the work of many corrections teachers. It’s a completely stand-alone, self-paced corrections school program in which students move at their own speed and learning style. Built-in feedback loops give the correctional students just-in-time responses to their efforts, enabling them to adjust and adapt as needed to maximize their learning progress.
-
3. Give More Flexibility.
Inmate populations are often transitory and dynamic. The GED Academy allows for maximum flexibility because inmates can start, stop, and then continue at a later date if needed. The program is always saving student learning progress so that both instructors and students can easily access performance at any time.

eLearning Adapted to Correctional Education
High Interest, High Motivation
Inmates often take classes because they have to, not because they want to. The challenge for correctional educational programs is to get inmates motivated and interested in learning. We have solved this by creating a new generation of learning technology built on high interest and motivation. Our teaching in-prison program takes place in a virtual classroom of real students who share many of the same issues as your learners. All of the learning content is presented in multiple learning styles so that every learner develops a deep and thorough understanding of basic concepts and skills. Find out what we teach.
Everyone Treated with Respect
In the often segregated and incendiary environment of adult correctional education, it’s critical that everyone be heard and respected, and that every inmate student receive the personal attention they need to maximize their success. The GED Academy uses a built-in assessment to create a customized learning plan for every single student. Each learner is treated individually so that they quickly develop the skills they need to obtain their GED diploma and to reenter the job market.
The GED Academy prison education program addresses various learning styles, works with the wide range of inmate skills, and respects the cultural diversity of learners. The instruction is engaging, motivating, and sustains interest of learners at all grade levels.
